By downloading, accessing, or using Afterward ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. Afterward is developed and operated by Emmanuel Narh ("we," "us," "our").
Afterward is a private journaling app for capturing dreams, prayers, sermon notes, prophetic impressions, and other personal spiritual reflections, by voice or text. The app can generate short, AI-assisted reflections on entries you've written, and lets you track entries over time (for example, marking whether something you recorded was later fulfilled).
Afterward is not a substitute for Scripture, prayer, pastoral counsel, or professional help. AI-generated reflections are offered to support your own personal reflection only. They are not authoritative interpretations of your dreams, visions, or circumstances, are not predictions of future events, and do not constitute religious, spiritual, medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. Your own discernment, prayer life, and trusted community remain the real interpreters of what you experience — Afterward only assists.
You need an account to use Afterward. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know right away at afterward@emmanuelnarh.org if you believe your account has been compromised.
You must be old enough, under the laws that apply to you, to agree to these terms on your own behalf.
You own the journal entries, recordings, and other content you create in Afterward ("your content"). We don't claim ownership over it, and we don't display it publicly or share it with other users.
By using the AI reflection or transcription features, you grant us (and the AI providers we work with, as described in our Privacy Policy) the limited permission needed to process your content for the sole purpose of generating that reflection or transcript for you. This isn't a license to use your content for any other purpose, and it isn't used to train AI models.
You're responsible for the content you create. Don't use Afterward to store or generate content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or that you don't have the right to share (for example, copyrighted material belonging to someone else).
Afterward offers a free tier and a paid Premium subscription.
Subscriptions are billed and managed through Apple's App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase, and subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your Apple ID account settings — we don't have the ability to process cancellations or refunds directly, since Apple handles all billing. Refunds are subject to Apple's policies.
We may change subscription pricing for future billing periods; where required, we'll give you notice before a price change takes effect.
Please don't: use Afterward for any unlawful purpose; attempt to access another user's account or data; reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying reference material behind the AI reflection feature; interfere with or disrupt the app's operation or security; or use the app to harm yourself or others — if you're in crisis, please see the safety note below and reach out to a local emergency service or crisis line.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Afterward includes a safety layer that screens entries for language suggesting serious distress. If triggered, the app will not generate an AI reflection for that entry and will instead show a supportive message encouraging you to reach out to your pastor, someone you trust, or a local crisis service. Afterward is not a crisis service, a mental health service, or an emergency response service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line directly.
Afterward is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly secure, or that AI-generated reflections will be accurate, complete, or suited to your particular circumstances. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, about the app and its content.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Emmanuel Narh will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Afterward, including reliance on any AI-generated reflection. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
We may update Afterward's features and these Terms of Use from time to time. If we make material changes to these terms, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Afterward after a change means you accept the updated terms.
You can stop using Afterward and delete your account at any time (Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete account). We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
