A reflection app built on interpretive humility.
Afterward is a personal project Emmanuel is building: a journalling app that uses AI to help people reflect more clearly, without letting the AI decide what their life means.
It follows a simple loop. Capture what happened, reflect on it, let the app draw out patterns across entries, discern what matters, then pray, act, or speak as the moment calls for. Later, return to it and track what changed. Anything bigger than a moment alone can hold is pointed toward a real person.
AI generates insight. People still do the interpreting. Afterward is built to point people toward real mentors, not just more content, when that is needed.
It grows from the same conviction as Emmanuel’s research: technology can carry much of the work, but the final act of understanding, especially in matters of faith, conscience, or personal history, stays with people.
